TANGAIL: Two robbers were beaten to death and another injured by a mob during robbery at Pach-Bari house in Tin-Gram village under Mirzapur upazila of the district on Wednesday (December 28).
The deceased were identified as Kamal Das, 53, hailed from Kola village under Gurudaspur upazila of Natore district and Shariful Islam, 56, hailed from Pakulya village in the area.
Another robber, Nek Mahmud, son of Nur Islam, hailed from Shoilajana village under Chouhali upazila of Sirajganj district, is undergoing treatment in Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital.
Mirzapur thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Moinuddin told Banglanews that members of the robbery gang robbed five houses at gunpoint around 4:00am in the village.
At some point locals felt the presence of the dacoits and attacked them while they opened fire at villagers. The villagers, however, managed to capture three robbers and beaten them.
On information, Police had recovered them in a critically injured condition and took them to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital where two of them died later.
A case will be filed regarding the incident, OC added.
